Mercedes recalls nearly one and a half million cars

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 1.3 million vehicles due to failures in the emergency call system. It is reported by The Associated Press, citing the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The campaign was initiated after an accident in Europe, when an automatic system sent incorrect data about the location of the car. After the investigation, it became known about other similar situations. Recalls are subject to vehicles manufactured in 2016-2021, including: CLA, GLA, GLE, GLS, SLC, A, GT, C, E, S, CLS, SL, B, GLB, GLC and G, as well as Metris 2016- 2020 and Sprinter 2019-2020.

Car owners will receive notifications from Mercedes and will be able to update the software for free, the agency writes. The recall will begin on April 6th.
