A SNACK – The new generation of Mercedes GLC is completed. Partially unveiled during tests over the past few months (whoto find out more), now the German company has confirmed the end of the tests, setting the date of the presentation of the car next June 1st. On the occasion, the star brand also showed a section of the tail and the rear lights of the suv (until today remained masked), as well as giving indications on the transmission, the infotainment system and the habitability on board.
NEW DETAILS – The image of the Mercedes GLC shows a proportionate tail, where the spoiler above the rear window, the fascia with the air intakes on the sides (most likely fake) and the headlights that taper towards the central part of the car stand out and should use oled technology to customize the light beams .
MECHANICALLY SIMILAR TO CLASS C – For the new one Mercedes GLC Four-wheel drive is expected as standard, and 48-volt mild hybrid or plug-in engines with rechargeable batteries will be available. The latter should ensure over 100 km of autonomy in electric mode. The new Mercedes GLC will share the latest version of the MRA platform with the C-Class, thus taking advantage of the engines gas 4 cylinders turbo 1.5 with 170 or 204 hp and the 2.0 with 258 hp, or the 2.0 turbodiesel with powers from 163 to 265 hp. In addition, there should be a more powerful version branded AMG, which combines the 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder M139 (currently used on the A45 S) with an electric motor, for a total power of 503 hp.
DOUBLE SCREEN – Moving on to the interiors, the new generation of the Mercedes GLC should have sliding rear seats (not available on the current model) and the latest version of the MBUX multimedia system with artificial intelligence and vertical screen. The latter will be flanked by a second panel for the instrumentation placed in front of the driver, following what has already been seen on the recent C-Class.
