The flagship among electric Mercedes has finally revealed the complete interior. The crew can look forward to an experience for all the senses.

As we have known for a long time, the main feature of the flagship electric Mercedes EQS will be its completely new MBUX Hyperscreen instrument panel, in which the carmaker has hidden three displays and ventilation vents. The carmaker also added that the system uses a processor with 8 cores and 24 GB of RAM.
However, the glazed dashboard will remain reserved for higher models, lower versions will have to make do with a similar interface as the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class. We are talking about a vertical infotainment with a diagonal of 12.8 inches, which complements the series of haptic buttons. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel is then placed in front of the driver.

However, Hyperscreen is just one of the impressive innovations that the carmaker is preparing for the interior of EQS. According to the press release, the crew should enjoy their stay on board with virtually all human senses – ie sight, hearing, touch and smell. The last sense should be taken care of by a special HEPA filter, which thoroughly cleans the air sucked into the cabin. As part of the Air-Balance package, the car is also equipped with an active cabin perfume system, including the new No.6 Mood Linen fragrance.
The touch experience is taken care of by touch screens with a haptic response, the vibrations of which are taken care of by 12 motors under the touch surfaces, as well as premium-selected lining and upholstery materials.

The experience for the ears then begins as soon as the crew gets in the car. The Mercedes EQS welcomes the crew with a sound effect as soon as they get closer. There are then two sound profiles ready for driving, called Silver Waves and Vivid Flux, which change depending on driving style and dynamics. However, this is an optional feature. Instead of the sounds of the car, the crew can also enjoy other audio, the quality of which is ensured by the Burmester surround audio with 15 speakers.
Also of interest are special relaxation sounds such as Forest Glade, Sounds of the Sea or Summer Rain, which can be played for relaxation at various stops. For example, when stopping at chargers, for which the EQS would not have to stop as often.

According to the carmaker, the novelty should offer an electric range of up to 700 kilometers according to WLTP, which are already very decent parameters. At the time of the premiere, 500,000 Mercedes Me Charge-supported charging stations worldwide will be ready for charging, with 200,000 in Europe alone.
The new electric Mercedes EQS should be officially introduced on April 15 this year, and its arrival on European markets is then estimated for August this year. Production should run alongside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Maybach S-Class in the carbon-neutral “Factory 56” at the Sindelfingen plant.
