Elektro-Oberliga. Car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is expanding its e-car fleet: the electric A-Class EQA and the electric van Mercedes EQV have been added to the already available Mercedes EQC.

The tightening of the CO2 limit values, the high environmental pollution caused by combustion engines, the silent gliding – there are more and more reasons to buy an electric car. The manufacturers also see it that way, including the German premium supplier Daimler-Benz.

Although this has already launched a fully electric SUV on the market, Mercedes is not enough. Anyone who believes that the EQC is the first and last electric car from Daimler has been wrong. Mercedes plans to launch an entire EQ model range on the market, which means that this model and the next few years will probably be supplemented by a few models.

Mercedes EQA: the electric A-Class

The Mercedes EQA is expected to compete with the BMW i3 in the future, which it is likely to be similar in terms of size and price.

The electric A-Class is to be powered by two electric motors, which together have a system output of 200 kW (272 hp). According to Daimler, the Mercedes EQA should also be equipped with permanent all-wheel drive to bring this power to the road.

In addition, the small electric car is said to have a range of around 400 kilometers, which is a relatively good value compared to some other electric cars. The BMW i3 is currently up to 300 kilometers below.

According to the manufacturer Daimler-Benz, the market launch of the Mercedes EQA could even take place this year. It remains to be seen whether this will happen so quickly.

Mercedes EQV: an electric van from Mercedes

With the electric Concept EQV, Mercedes-Benz Vans now gives the first outlook on the future Mercedes EQV. This should score with a lot of space and functionality, especially for MPVs or van lovers who would now like to switch to a fully electric car.

Thanks to a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, the study, like the Mercedes EQA, has an expected range of around 400 kilometers.

According to Mercedes, the fast charging station should be able to charge the energy for approx. 100 km in 15 minutes. Daimler specifies the top speed as 160 km / h. The conventional V-Class with a combustion engine instead of an electric motor reaches a maximum speed of around 200 km / h.

Mercedes EQS: the electric S-Class

For well-heeled customers who want something a little more luxurious and at the same time electric, Mercedes-Benz will now have something in the near future, namely the fully electric Mercedes EQS.

In terms of performance, this should even reach the 400 hp mark and also 765 Nm. In addition, according to the manufacturer, the fully electric Mercedes EQS should create a range of around 500 kilometers.
