Mercedes unveils the prices and range of its new E-Class (sedan and station wagon) for the French market.

Revealed in April, the new Mercedes E-Class is available to order in France. The German manufacturer unveiled the range in August with the prices, engines and finishes of its road sedan. The competitor of the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series will arrive in dealerships in September 2023.

This sixth generation of Class E retains diesel and petrol units in its range with the 197 hp E 220d and 204 hp E 200 versions. The latter are electrified via a 48V micro-hybridization. Electric power peaks at 23 hp (+ 3 hp compared to the old model). Two petrol plug-in hybrid offers complete the catalog with the 300e 313 hp and 400e 4MATIC 381 hp versions. They have an 11 kW alternating current charger as standard. All engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and available in three finishes: Avantgarde-Line, AMG-Line and Exclusive-Line. A six-cylinder petrol and a diesel PHEV (plug-in hybrid 300de) will arrive in early 2024 at the latest.
Rising prices
Unsurprisingly, the entry-level ticket for the new E-Class is on the rise. The German sedan is available from €64,750 in France with the E 200 petrol unit. That’s €2,150 more than the older generation. With an equivalent finish and engine, the E-Class is €1,950 more expensive than its competitor, the BMW 5 Series. Its other rival, the Audi A6, which has just been restyled, starts at €58,040. It costs €67,900 for the entry-level diesel of the E-Class. The top-of-the-range version reaches €90,200 with the four-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid (400e 4 MATIC). Also available to order, the estate variant is offered with three engines (E220d diesel, E200 petrol and PHEV 300e). Its prices range from €67,300 to €85,750, or €2,550 more than the sedan.
