Ingolstadt with Guardian Angel
According to the police, the accident occurred at 0:20 a.m. The 29-year-old was traveling alone with his Mercedes SUV from Pfaffenhofen to Pörnbach. According to his own statements, he had to avoid a deer. He came off the road with his car and crashed into a wooded area with full force and felled several trees there. The car came to one side and went up in flames. First aiders helped the 29-year-old out of the car and made an emergency call.
The man had a guardian angel: he was taken to a hospital and x-rayed, but only bruises were found there. During the course of the accident recording, the 29-year-old was found to have alcohol and a blood sample was taken. The man had over 1.1 per mille in the blood.
Rescue workers from the Pörnbacher fire brigade were able to extinguish the vehicle fire quickly and secure the scene of the accident. The main road had to be completely closed for the difficult rescue work.
The police estimate the damage to the trees to be at least 3,000 euros. The Mercedes suffered a total economic loss, which officials estimate at over 10,000 euros. DK
