Buses with Mercedes logo will be produced in Ukraine

The first pilot batch will be released in September this year, serial production will be launched from 2022.
The Zaporozhye Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ) is preparing to begin mass production of buses under the Mercedes brand in 2022. About it informs Radio Liberty with reference to the UkrAVTO corporation, which includes ZAZ.
It is noted that the ZAZ A09 bus is a completely Ukrainian development, designed by factory engineers using the recommendations of Mercedes “for bus manufacturers using a Mercedes engine, gearbox and rear suspension”.
“The implementation of these recommendations allows, after passing the design and production audit, to obtain permission to install the Mercedes logo on the manufactured bus,” UkrAVTO noted.
So, according to the project, the vehicle is designed for 36 passengers and is intended for intercity transportation. So far, the plans are to produce such buses only for the domestic market of Ukraine.
“In the future, it is possible to export the bus to countries where the environmental standards of Euro-5 are in effect. The first pilot batch of cars will be produced in September 2021,” the company said.
Earlier it was reported that at the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant assembly will start soon two models of the Korean automaker Kia – Rio Sedan and Rio X.
