A unique Mercedes-Benz X-Class was sold in the world. The former owner put six wheels on it, then put it up for sale.
Probably the owner of this Mercedes-Benz X-Class wanted a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6 × 6, priced, when it was launched, at about half a million euros. But he chose a much cheaper option. He bought a two-axle pickup truck and modified it. After this radical change, he decided to sell it.
The first production pick-up in the Mercedes-Benz range was a failure. The Germans decided to eliminate the model with platform and engines taken over from Nissan Navara after less than three years on the market years, due to the low interest shown by customers. Tuning companies, however, were left with a weakness for the X-Class. Carlex Design, for example, has made many versions with a special look, and this is one of them.
The X-Class with three axles and six wheels was put up for sale through the platform Classic Youngtimers. It is an X 350d version, which received a subframe in the rear and an elongated dump truck, which allowed the installation of the third deck.
Mercedes-Benz X-Class, inspired by the AMG range
Prominent wings, a grille inspired by the Pan American grid now available in the AMG range, black plastic protections on the wings and new sills have appeared on the pickup inspired by G 63 AMG 6×6. The model received a new suspension and a 10 centimeter higher ground clearance.
Carlex did not make any changes to the engine, so the X 350 d comes with the 3.0-liter V6 unit with 258 horsepower and maximum torque of 550 Nm, coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission. But a roll cage appeared in the premium pickup cabin. It is another indication that the changes were not made just for the sake of design, but to make the model only good for off-road adventures.
The price of this model was available only for those interested in buying.
