Benchmark Vehicles, which specializes in converting various vehicles into mobile homes, has presented its new project – a camper called Leithaus. The car was built on the basis of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minivan. As reported Business Insider, the price of the car is $ 275 thousand.
According to the developers themselves, the demand for their cars during the COVID-19 pandemic has grown exponentially, as travel within the country has become very popular. The line of those wishing to buy a motorhome has stretched out until 2022.
“Since overseas travel is very limited this year and is likely to remain so in 2021, we are seeing a significant increase in interest in travel within the US. RVs are a lifesaver for adventurers in this difficult time, ”said Benchmark Vehicles founder Leland Gilmore.
As for the Leithaus, it was originally built in a single copy for a private order. It took the engineers about 4.5 months to build the camper. The motorhome is designed for four people. You can travel by car in any weather, for this Leithaus has been equipped with various heaters, window insulation and air conditioning.
The motorhome comes with a shower, a kitchen with a stove, a cupboard, a refrigerator, a dining table and several sleeping places. The machine is also equipped with a lifting roof with a tent. The water for cooking and showering comes from a 160 liter tank and is filtered.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the camper is equipped with special mounts for bicycles and skis. A generator and solar panels are used for additional energy.
