Mercedes Arias González, mother of the former head of marketing for EL COMERCIO, Antonio González (Tito), died yesterday in Oviedo at the age of 85. Ovetense by birth, and with roots in Piloña on his maternal side and Mieres, on his paternal side, lived on Avenida de Colón and married Aquilino H. González García, retired from the Arms Factory and died in July 2013. She was a a “fajadora” woman, a “life fighter” who underwent two liver transplants: one in 1989 and another ten years later.
He leaves behind three children: our partner Tito, Francisco Javier, and Juan Carlos; a political daughter, Pilar Alonso Vigil; a granddaughter, María Alonso González and a goddaughter, Cristina Arias. Today, at a quarter to one in the afternoon, the celebration of the Word will be held in the chapel of the Los Arenales funeral home, in Oviedo, where its burning chapel was installed yesterday.
