The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 and BMW i7 xDrive60 performed well in this difficult test. However, both electric vehicles covered less than the declared range.

Bloggers tested the real range of premium electric vehicles BMW i7 and Mercedes-AMG EQS. Electric cars were driven until the batteries were completely discharged. Video published on YouTube channel Carwow.

For this test, we took a Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 and a BMW i7 xDrive60. Before the start of the test, both electric vehicles were fully charged.

The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 is equipped with two 761 hp electric motors. and 1020 Nm of torque. The declared power reserve is 540 km on a single charge.


The BMW i7 xDrive60 is equipped with two 544 hp electric motors. and 745 Nm of torque. The factory specifications claim a power reserve of 510 km on a single charge.


Both cars performed well at first. Their batteries were draining very slowly and the bloggers decided that they could go further than the declared power reserve. At the end of the test, it became clear that the on-board computers incorrectly showed the mileage until the batteries were completely discharged.

As a result, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 was able to drive only 473 km. BMW i7 xDrive60 on a single charge was able to cover a distance of 483 km.

Previously Focus said that in 2024 the Mercedes-Benz lineup will be replenished with two new electric vehicles.
