Mercato: Valentin Atangana, Reims’ rising star shines with the Bleuets

This is what we call a dream first. For his first time in the jersey of the Espoirs team, Valentin Atangana, who found some in the scouting podcast he turned into a scorer this Friday in the friendly match against Italy (2-2). Launched by Gérald Baticle in place of Ayyoub Bouaddi shortly after the hour mark, the Reims midfielder took less than three minutes to find the net. A save goal as it gave the Bleuets a chance to draw.

This good performance confirms their excellent start to the season. Finalist at the last Euro U19, a tournament in which he wore the captain’s armband, Atangana took off in a Reims shirt by establishing himself as an undisputed starter in midfield (11 start in the first 11 days of Ligue 1 ).

His performances and his contractual situation, he will be at the end of his contract at Reims in June 2026, will be of interest to many clubs.
