Arni Vilhjálmsson, free after a stint at the Breidablik club, is the RAF’s new striker for the next two years.

After the announcement of the departure of Ugo Bonnet to Valenciennes, Rodez records the arrival of a new attacker in its ranks. The Icelandic Árni Vilhjálmsson is the second reinforcement of the Sang et Or during this winter transfer window after Jonathan Varane, the half-brother of the French international Raphaël Varane.

“Rodez Aveyron Football is pleased to announce the arrival of Árni Vilhjálmsson, playing as a striker. At the end of his contract with Breidablik (Icelandic 1st division), he is released from his commitments with his former club and joins the Sang & Or club until 2024”, announces the press release.

“Árni is an ambidextrous striker, very attracted to goal. He is able to go deep, to provoke with his dribbling and finishing skills. Playing for almost 10 years in the best Nordic championships, he is used to tough and committed matches, totally in tune with the spirit of the club”, continues the Ruthenian club.

Author of 11 goals and 5 assists in 21 league games during the year 2021, the 27-year-old ambidextrous striker therefore joins France and is closer in particular to his companion, Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir, player of the women’s team of Olympique Lyonnais, with whom he had a child at the end of 2021.
