In search of a titular goalkeeper, the LOSC had looked into the case of Alphonse Areola to take over from Maignan. The porter made another choice.
Author of a brilliant season under the colors of the LOSC, Mike Maignan crossed the Alps and went to take over a certain Gianluigi Donnarumma at Milan AC. But the play of the musical chairs between the goalkeepers was almost a loop between Milan, Lille and Paris. It was already known that the LOSC, now looking for a potential starter, had looked into the case of Sergio Rico but had preferred to leave the track fairly quickly.
The newspaper L’Equipe reveals that LOSC has also thought of another goalkeeper under contract with PSG in this quest for a goalkeeper capable of succeeding the excellent Maignan, namely Alphonse Areola. Lille had looked into the case according to the sports newspaper but the 2018 world champion finally joined West Ham on loan. An arrival from Areola, however, seemed impossible to buckle between the player’s salary and his desire to stay in London.
PSG will finally face this Sunday at the Champions Trophy a LOSC with Leo Jardim in the goals, Brazilian namesake of the former coach of Monaco and who does not convince since the champion club of France is still looking for a holder.
