Mercato: Frenchman Pierre Kalulu to Juventus

After Khephren Thuram, another Frenchman has set down his suitcases in Turin for the 2024-2025 season. This Wednesday, Juventus made official the paid loan of defender Pierre Kalulu for one year, for the sum of 3 million euros paid to AC Milan, the club where the 24-year-old player played. According to several Italian media, where the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus could pay an additional 14 million euros in view of a permanent transfer next season.

Having arrived in Lombardy in 2020, Kalulu was disrupted by several injuries last season. He had only played nine Serie A games and a low total of 370 minutes on the pitch, or just over four full games. It was his shortest season in terms of playing time since his arrival in 2020. The defender trained in Lyon, without ever having played a single game with the first team, had mainly established himself from the start of the 2021-2022 season in Milan. He has since never given up his starting position, except in the event of injury.

Juventus therefore has two French players in its squad – apart from Paul Pogba, who is still suspended for doping. Adrien Rabiot, free of any contract, is no longer in the ranks of the Old Lady.
