Mercato: Cristiano Ronaldo would be transferred to Manchester City

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly proposed the Juventus forward to Manchester City this summer.

The Portugal international has just 10 months to fulfill his £ 25.5million-a-year contract at the Old Lady and his future in Turin is uncertain, having been linked with moves to PSG, Real Madrid and former Manchester United club in the past.

Premier League champions City are currently looking for a new striker after Kun Aguero’s departure. But Tottenham and England’s Harry Kane remain their first target.

Sportsmail revealed this week that Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to make an improved bid on the £ 100million for Kane which was rejected earlier this summer, but Spurs are demanding a price of £ 150million.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Ronaldo’s representative Mendes offered City an alternative option by saying the 36-year-old could end up at Manchester City this season

The report says Juventus are said to be ready to sell Ronaldo for just £ 25million this summer given he only has one year left on his contract with the Serie A giants also keen to cut the high salary of the Portuguese striker.

A potential transfer from Ronaldo to City would be a hugely controversial move given the 36-year-old spent six successful seasons with the club’s big-name rivals Manchester United, scoring 118 goals in 292 games between 2003 and 2009.

According to Spain’s El Chiringuito news program, Real Madrid are also considering bringing Ronaldo back to the Santiago Bernabeu – with Carlo Ancelotti calling for the man who has scored 450 goals in nine seasons for Los Blancos to return to Spain.

The 36-year-old is preparing for the new Serie A season with Juventus following the return of six-time Serie A champion Massimiliano Allegri to the club after a two-year absence.
