The Foxes absolutely want to keep their star defender despite the confirmed interest of the Blues.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Leicester City have received two offers from Chelsea for Wesley Fofana, with both falling “far short” from the club’s assessment of the defender. Fofana has established himself as one of Europe’s most promising defenders since joining Leicester from Saint-Etienne in October 2020. This summer he caught the eye of Chelsea, who are looking to bolster his defense after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
“Two offers, but far from what the club is considering”
The player appeared to hint that he was interested in the transfer earlier this month, removing all mention of Leicester from his social media bios and also posting a cryptic Instagram Story. Speaking ahead of Leicester’s Premier League meeting with Arsenal on Saturday, Rodgers confirmed Chelsea have submitted a pair of offers for Fofana.

“There have been two, but nowhere near what the club would consider. We’re not looking to sell. Naturally, if there’s interest from other clubs, the club are looking at it. That’s a top young defender and there aren’t many around his age.”, did he declare. Rodgers was also asked if speculation over Wesley Fofana leaving affected the rest of the squad.
‘One more year at Leicester would be important for Fofana’s development’
“It can affect the whole group if you don’t manage it. You have to keep your eyes on the ball. But everyone is focused on doing their best in games for Leicester City. For Wesley himself, we “Let’s communicate openly with him. One more year for him at Leicester would be really important for his development. Wesley is quite calm about the situation. He is aware of the interest he is getting. He is just carrying on with his work.”added the Foxes technician.

Leicester are in no rush to sell Wesley Fofana as he signed a new contract until the summer of 2027 last March. That said, if the French centre-back actively fusses over leaving the King Power Stadium, the Foxes could be tempted to sell him to fund their own summer rebuild. Leicester are the only side in Europe’s top five leagues to not sign a single player this summer transfer window, with Rodgers recently admitting they would need to sell players before investing to strengthen the squad.
For their part, Chelsea have already signed two defenders this summer, Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly, while Cesar Azpilicueta also ended speculation linking him to FC Barcelona by signing a new contract last week. The Blues are still looking to strengthen their rear guard and Wesley Fofana is now the top priority.
