Mercado Pago Partners with Cancer with Science Initiative for Donation Options

Mercado Pago, the wallet of the Mercado Libre company, joined the initiative «Cancer with science» from the Sales Foundation to make available to its users the option to make donations.

Through their Mercado Pago account, the user must enter “See +” and search for “Donate”, where the option of participating social organizations will be displayed.

By selecting Fundación Sales, you can enter the amount to donate. The proceeds will be used for research that the foundation has been carrying out for more than 47 years, as this organization informed me in a statement.

The Sales Foundation works with the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Conicet) in scientific research, and promotes the work of José Mordoh, who developed a therapeutic vaccine for melanoma.

It also supports the research of Gabriel Rabinovich, who studies the role of the Galectin-1 protein in relation to cancer and the immune system; and Claudia Lanari, who investigates the role of progesterone and its incidence in breast cancer.

These are research teams that make up more than ten scientists each.

The Donate button is a permanent feature that allows Mercado Pago users to donate to social organizations in just a few clicks.

In three years, this tool raised more than $650,000.

Among the capabilities of this tool, there is also the option to send access via WhatsApp so that contacts can make a donation and, thus, extend help to participating social organizations.
