The answer to this question will be given by the conference organized by Tsvetelina Penkova, MEP from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. It will be held on June 24, 2022 in the “Sredets” hall, “Sofia Hotel Balkan” hotel, from 09:00.
The event will discuss how adequate and timely policies can stimulate innovation at national and European level.
The main goal is to highlight growth policies in the development of innovations in Bulgaria and the EU. The existing regulatory framework in this area and how it can be improved will be discussed. Research and development activity as the foundation for the development of innovation will be the main emphasis. The focus will be on young people as the driving force of innovation.
The conference will be opened by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Maria Gabriel. The Bulgarian Minister of Innovation and Growth, Daniel Laurer, will review the key European and national policies that will stimulate innovation in Bulgaria in the next decade. Tsvetelina Penkova will explain the need for EU legislation for the development of technological startups. The executive director of the Bulgarian Start-up Association (BESCO) Ned Dervenkov will explain the need for legislative reform for the development of start-ups and the attraction of talent in Bulgaria.
The forum will be attended by the chairman of BAS academic Julian Revalski, leading scientists and specialists in the field, representatives of industry, the private sector, venture capital funds and non-governmental organizations. The constitutional judge Yanaki Stoilov, the deputy minister of economy and industry Dimitar Danchev, people’s representatives from the 47th National Assembly, the chairman of AIKB Vasil Velev, the chairman of the Association for Equity and Risk Investment Evgeni Angelov, the executive director of Sofia Tech Park Todor Mladenov will take part. , the sociologist Dimitar Ganev, the founder of the innovation media TheRecursive Irina Obushtarova and many others.
