A former doctor from Menzing has debts of several hundred thousand francs. Health insurance companies also demand money from him.

This is not the first time that the Menzingen doctor, who is knee-deep in debt, has made negative headlines. He closed his practice in the spring after the Zug police took him away in handcuffs. Among other things, he is said to have issued false invoices (zentralplus reported).

The doctor apparently owes almost 350,000 francs to several creditors, as the “Zuger Zeitung” writes, citing the Zug Official Gazette. The creditors also include several health insurance companies. These apparently assume that certain treatments carried out by the Menzinger doctor during the corona pandemic were not “effective, appropriate and economical” and therefore there was no legal right to reimbursement from the health insurance companies. That is why they are demanding back the money that the doctor received for the aforementioned treatments.

The former Menzingen doctor also appears to owe money to the canton of Zug.

Menzingen doctor wanted to keep patient files

But that wasn’t enough: the former Menzingen doctor also owed his patients their patient files. After the practice was closed, the doctor apparently did not come forward with the dossiers. In the meantime, most of the doctor’s patients are said to have received their dossiers back – at least partially.

The former doctor could not be reached for comment. Nevertheless, it is clear that he has 10 days to dispute the claims of his creditors, i.e. to submit a legal proposal, otherwise he has to repay the debt within 20 days.
