The General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment has launched a training program for the project of the program for the care of minors who suffer from drug abuse problems in juvenile institutions, under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, Dr.Menen Abdel-Maksoud, and with the participation of TDH and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC , Sponsored by the European Union.
In a statement today, the Municipality explained that a group of doctors, psychologists and social workers in the children and adolescents units of the secretariat participated in the training, as well as a group of psychosocial specialists working in penal institutions and representatives of the Social Defense Department at the Ministry of Solidarity.
The secretariat stated that this comes within the basic objectives of the Children and Adolescents Department, by providing specialized mental health services for children and adolescents through 12 units within the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment hospitals nationwide.
She explained that psychological detection and follow-up services have been provided to 18742 male and female adolescents, and addiction treatment services have been provided to 2331 adolescent girls and boys since the beginning of this year.
She pointed out that addiction treatment services for adolescents are carried out in cooperation with the Addiction Treatment Department in the Municipality, where the training was provided by Dr. Iman Jaber, Director of the Children and Adolescents Department, Dr. Walaa Hosni, Dr. Amira Zaki, Dr. Hadeer Al Shafei from the Department of Children and Adolescents, and Dr. Alaa Al-Madani from the Department of Foreign Relations. And Dr. Elham Mahmoud, Project Manager Towards Justice at Terredesom.
