The month of October is dedicated to the topic of mental health. In fact, three events highlight mental health: World Mental Health Day, Mental Health Week which runs until October 16, and the 33rd edition of Mental Health Information Weeks which runs until October 23. .
World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year the theme was “Making Mental Health for All a Global Priority”.
Various events and activities related to mental health are organized during the month of October.
In particular, the mental health weeks that take place every two years and are part of the 1st National Suicide Prevention Plan (PNPSL) that the Government voted in 2015. The first two editions took place in 2018 and 2020.
The 3rd edition, which takes place from 10 to 16 October 2022, has the slogan “My health is also my mental health”.
This week’s goal is to promote mental health, raise awareness of mental illness, fight the stigma of mental illness and strengthen the resilience of individuals, families and the community.
Another event worth noting: the 33rd edition of the Information Weeks on Mental Health, open to all. It takes place from 10 to 23 October 2022 on the theme: “For my mental health, we act for our environment”.
This theme addresses the physical dimension of the environment which includes our planet, climate but also infrastructure.
The WHO estimates that one in four people face a mental health problem in their lifetime: mental suffering or psychiatric pathology. Prevention and early intervention are still insufficient today.
