“Mental Health” holds an addiction treatment conference at Princess Fatima Academy

The General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment held its first scientific conference on treating addiction, entitled “Focus on Recovery“This is chaired by the Secretary-General of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Dr. Menen Abdel Maqsoud.

The conference was held at Princess Fatima Academy for Vocational Medical Education, “the National Institute for Training Previously”, on Friday and Saturday, 14 and 15 February, with the participation of a number of doctors specializing in the treatment of addiction locally and internationally.

The conference was attended by Dr. Ahmed Okasha, a professor of psychiatry at Ain Shams University, and many young doctors at the General Secretariat of Mental Health and a group of mental illness consultants at both the local and international levels.

Dr. Menen Abdel Maqsoud, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of Mental Health, confirmed that the conference is the first scientific conference to discuss addiction treatment at the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat of Mental Health, and aims to familiarize with scientific lectures and implement them in workshops to help addiction patients recover.

Abdel Maksoud mentioned that the lectures included many different topics related to addiction treatment and workshops, pointing out that this is in the context of the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat for Mental Health keenness to display the latest scientific developments in addiction treatment and continuing medical education.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Fawzi Al-Souda, Assistant Minister of Health for Continuing Medical Education and President of the Academy, said that the academy will implement many training programs and scientific meetings during the current month in the fields of “radiology, general surgery, spina, obstetrics, cardiac resuscitation, general internal medicine, urology surgery, psychiatry and treatment Addiction “, in the governorates of South Sinai and Luxor.

It is worth noting that the Princess Fatima Academy for Continuing Medical and Vocational Education has witnessed many changes, including updating and developing programs, and setting a new policy, to expand the scope of training doctors and implement training in the governorates.
