This Tuesday, September 28, the Assises of psychiatry and mental health continue. And professionals in the sector are watching for Emmanuel Macron’s announcements. Indeed, the Head of State must confirm the reimbursement of sessions with a licensed psychologist or psychotherapist.
A major advance. The health crisis and the confinements have shed a harsh light on the psychological disorders to varying degrees from which more than 12 million French. And it is with this in mind that Emmanuel Macron should announce, according to our colleagues from RTL, reimbursement of consultations with the psychologist by the mutual insurance company.
Who is concerned ?
The entire French population is concerned, regardless of age or resources, as specified RTL.
How it works ?
Support will take the form of a package several consultations, renewable if necessary on condition of having a medical prescription.
The measure will be included in the Social Security budget for 2022. It remains to determine the precise amount and a session price not to be exceeded in order to be fully reimbursed and avoid an explosion in prices.
Elsewhere in Europe, several countries have already taken the plunge. As recalled I miss thems, in Sweden, Finland, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Spain, the health insurance already at least partially covers psychotherapy.
