Mental Health Consultant: Corona does not mean death and the Egyptians should avoid panic

Dr. Walid Hendi, a mental health consultant, stressed the need for citizens to be aware that there is a distinction between the concept of life and death and the concept of illness, and that it does not mean that a person has a disease that he will die, indicating that many citizens become ill and then live for many years, and there are many cases of people infected with a virus Corona is cured.

The mental health consultant said, in statements to Xtra News, that the disease does not mean death, pointing to the need for citizens to move away from the panic they are living in now and that pushes them to demand to buy goods and products for fear of the future.

The mental health consultant explained that the Egyptians should be aware that Egypt is going through climatic fluctuations during the current period, and therefore it does not mean that the person raises his temperature that he is suffering from corona inevitably, then he lives in a state of panic and fear.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Population announced today, Wednesday, that 29 of those infected with the Corona virus have been discharged from the isolation hospital, including two foreigners, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 305 cases to date.

The health statement said that the number of cases whose laboratory results were converted from positive to negative for Coronavirus (Covid-19) increased to 439 cases, including the 305 who are recovering..

He added that 110 new cases were recorded that showed positive laboratory analyzes of the virus, including two foreigners, as part of the surveillance and investigation procedures conducted by the Ministry according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 9 cases.

He said that all registered cases of HIV positive in isolation hospitals are subject to medical care, according to WHO guidelines.

He stated that the total number registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until today, Wednesday, is 1560 cases, including 305 cases that have been cured and discharged from the isolation hospital, and 103 deaths.
