A video shows a man in police uniform checking citizens’ vehicle documents viral on social media. However, in the viral video narration it is said that the man in uniform is a fake police.
The incident occurred in Cideng, Central Jakarta. The viral video contains the figure of a man wearing police uniform attributes and a helmet checking the documents of passing residents’ vehicles.
When the uniformed man was then recorded by other car drivers. The recorder then shouted at the man in uniform and said the man was not a police officer.

“Wow, you’re not a real cop, woi. Don’t want him to be a real cop. He’s not a real cop,” said the video recorder as seen on Sunday (31/7/2022).
Suddenly the uniformed man and the driver of the car who was being checked for vehicle documents were shocked. However, the uniformed man did little to respond to the video recorder’s screams.
“Yes, yes,” replied the man in uniform.
Confirmed separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Endra Zulpan admitted that his party could not confirm whether the man in uniform was actually a police officer or not. They will conduct an investigation into the incident.
“Yes, we will investigate,” said Zulpan.
Zulpan said that his party also hopes for an active role from the community. He appealed to people who were victims to report to the police.
“If there are people who become victims due to the actions of these fake police, please report them to the police,” concluded Zulpan.
