As the coronavirus raged at its worst and the whole world was in isolation, Lancaster had to experience that time at home would be very heavy. He had the first symptoms of menopause. Body temperature rose and fell. She alternated sweating and cold. Additionally, she experienced mood swings and experienced weight gain.
– I just had to listen
On the TV show, she says she went so far that one of the hardest days ended with her throwing dinner in the kitchen.
– I just screamed and burst into tears. The boys came and hugged me. Rod said, “Mom must have some time now,” Lancaster says.

Open about hormonal changes
– Rod and I have a very close relationship and are open about everything. I was open with him about how I felt before my period came. If I was feeling down or bored, I said, “Honey, give me some alone time today, I’m in that time of the month,” Lancaster says.
She was also open to her family about the hormonal changes she experienced when she went through menopause and says she received good support and understanding from both her husband and their two children Alastair (15) and Aiden (10).
