Since 1961, the Belgian company Ménart has specialized in the design and construction of composting and waste treatment equipment for the preservation of the environment. It confirms its good performance on both national and international markets, working in some sixty countries on four continents: Asia, Africa, America and Europe. It continues to expand through an extensive global network of distributors and customers.
Six household waste treatment projects
And why Vietnam? It all started in the 1990s. “During our various surveys, we discovered potential markets which naturally oriented our commercial development towards Vietnam”shared Bérengère Ménart, general manager of the company, with The Courier of Vietnam.
“The amount of waste increasing with the growth of the population, Vietnam had to adapt its treatment policy. The country has opened up to technologies allowing the recovery of organic residues and we were present to meet this demand”she explained.
In Vietnam, Ménart supports the provinces of Hà Nam, Thái Nguyên (North), Hà Tinh (Centre), Kon Tum (Central Highlands), Dông Nai and Sóc Trang (South) in the treatment of household waste. It also supports Vietnamese companies in transforming waste into compost, helping to reduce pollution.

“We rely on the recycling and recovery of organic residues by the technique of sorting-composting, perfectly adaptable to the conditions of Vietnam”revealed Bérengère Ménart.
For her, the most important thing in the results obtained by her company is to gain the trust of the customers, even their preference. This is why Ménart accompanies Vietnamese provinces and entrepreneurs from the start of their projects to the training of personnel on site. “The combination of our robust facilities and site-specific know-how allows our customers to quickly achieve their goals”she insisted.
In 2021, Ménart completed its 6th household waste treatment project using sorting-composting technology in Vietnam. The company carries out a larger project every two years. “Our objective is to maintain this progress but also to offer specific smaller units in order to meet the need for recovery of waste from livestock and culture”informed Bérengère Ménart.
A country that cares about the environment
Reducing the amount of waste to landfill is a “objective to be maintained at all costs” which is accompanied by the need to recover the materials to be recycled beforehand. “Our technologies offer solutions to achieve this”said Bérengère Ménart.
His company also wishes to offer solutions in the agricultural field. “The abuse of chemical fertilizers must give way to the appropriate use of natural fertilizers. We want to help entrepreneurs to recover organic residues in crops (e.g. sugar cane) and farms thanks to adequate equipment”underlined Bérengère Ménart.
According to her, since the end of the 1990s, an investment dynamic has been set up in Vietnam, reflected in the environmental sector by significant capital invested in waste recycling. “The country has succeeded in raising awareness among its hard-working and courageous population about environmental challenges”. This fertile climate allows it to modernize its infrastructures and places it among the Asian countries most concerned about the environment.
Many prestigious French-speaking companies have chosen Vietnam to do their business such as Archetype, Alstom, Amaris, Carrefour (Big C), Danone, Decathlon, Gameloft, Gras Savoye, Mazars, Pierre Cardin, Sanofi, Total, to name but a few. . This is only part of the very long list of French-speaking companies present in the country. And this list is getting longer and longer.
In addition to these world-renowned brands, there are also many local companies in Vietnam founded by French-speaking people who have been very successful such as Les Vergers du Mékong, Chocolat Marou, Annam Group, Fanny Ice Cream, Asian Cellars. So many great economic and human stories on the Vietnamese market.
