Men threaten young people with knives and demand money

On Friday evening (23.07.2021) previously unknown men threatened a young person in downtown Bayreuth with a knife and demanded the surrender of money. The Bayreuth criminal police have started the investigation and are looking for witnesses.

At around 9:40 p.m. the 16-year-old was out on Maximilianstrasse. In the Max-Passage he met three previously unknown men. One of the strangers then demanded cash from the youth while holding a knife. When the 16-year-old said no and called for help, the three men fled towards the pedestrian zone without prey.

A search for the three unknown men has so far been unsuccessful.

The perpetrators wore mouth and nose protection at the time of the crime. They are described as follows:

• about 180 centimeters, estimated 20 years, strong stature, short-shaved hair, southern appearance, long-sleeved dark outerwear
• about 170 to 180 centimeters, estimated 20 years, slim, short hair, long-sleeved dark outerwear
• about 170 to 180 centimeters, estimated 20 years, slim, short hair, long-sleeved dark outerwear

The Bayreuth Criminal Police is now looking for witnesses who observed the incident on Friday evening, around 9:40 p.m., in the Max-Passage area or who could provide information about the three unknown men. The criminal investigation department takes notices under the telephone number 0921/506-0 opposite.
