Men steal car in Breezand, then end up in ditch | Inland

A man parked his Lancia at the supermarket on Ceresplein in Breezand to throw glassware into the glass container. A number of men sitting nearby on a bench managed to get away with the car. The thieves then shot off the road on the Molenvaart and ended up in the water.

Emergency services responded in a big way to the vehicle that had fallen into the water. Police, fire brigade and an air ambulance were deployed. An appeal was also distributed via Burgernet in connection with the fleeing perpetrators.

The two men who fled after the crash were arrested a short distance away. There may be a third suspect. Emergency services search the water just to be safe.
