Shots rang out in Cologne: three masked men stormed a delicatessen store. One of the perpetrators shot with an assault rifle – before the three fled.
According to the police, shots were fired during a robbery on a delicatessen store in Cologne’s wholesale market. Accordingly, two men armed with firearms stormed into the delicatessen store on Thursday evening, while an accomplice was standing in front of the Schmiere store. One of the two men is said to have fired shots into the air with his assault rifle.
The men, masked with dark blue ski masks, threatened an employee and stole cash. The police did not initially give an exact amount. The perpetrators, who were between 1.70 m and 1.85 m tall, escaped with their prey in a silver vehicle.
Cologne: First witnesses testify
According to initial testimony, one of the wanted wore a dark blue jacket with eye-catching yellow patches. The men are described as lean and muscular.
The wholesale market is located in the Raderberg district in the south of Cologne. The police also used a helicopter during the search. The officials initially did not want to comment on any further details about the attack.
