A man in Hepang Hamlet, Doreng District, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), YDB (33), attempted suicide. The man was desperate to cut his genitals using a machete.
“His genitals were chopped flat using a machete,” Kapolsek Bola Iptu Muhamadong Said, as reported detikBaliSaturday (11/2/2023).
Muhamadong said YDP was found lying in the bathroom covered in blood. The victim was found by a witness.
“There was an attempt at suicide by the victim in the victim’s bathroom. When the witness was about to go to the bathroom, he found the victim lying in front of the bathroom door, and the groin area around the victim’s genitals was bleeding,” explained the police chief.
Muhamadong said that before the suicide attempt, YDP and the person who found him sat talking at his house. YDP then said goodbye to the bathroom until finally found lying down.
Muhamadong said YDP had received treatment at the Puskesmas but was then referred to the hospital because his injuries were serious. “The Habibola Health Center has referred victims to the TC. Hilers Maumere Hospital,” he said.
