The men who were beaten by the police in Kongsberg this autumn, report to the police.
The police are reported for false reports, false explanations, deletion of evidence and serious violence, write The daily newspaper.
The lawyers for the three men believe that the police officers who attended the scene got off too cheaply. The Bureau has charged a police officer.
– There is no doubt that more people should have been prosecuted, and that the police have so far gotten away with it, says lawyer Morten Kjensli to the newspaper.
The incident of police violence in question took place at the Esso station in the center of Kongsberg in October last year. A policeman has been charged with knocking a man to the ground and hitting him repeatedly on the head and body with a clenched fist. It was all captured on a surveillance video, which recently became known.
– All the involved servicemen and women have obviously coordinated their explanations to downplay the seriousness of their actions, Kjensli writes in the report according to the newspaper.
Lawyer John Christian Elden, who represents the police officer who has already been charged, tells the newspaper that Kjensli is a bit late.
– The chief of police reported the conditions against my client already in November, and the special unit has, among other things, assessed whether deliberately incorrect reports were written. They have concluded that this did not happen, and emphasize that in the prosecution decision, says Elden.
