Memphis Depay helped Olympique Lyon with a goal and an assist to a new victory in the Ligue 1 on Friday. Stade Brest was beaten 2-3. A little earlier in the evening, Wout Weghorst in Germany also proved his worth for VfL Wolfsburg without scoring.
Lyon came 0-1 in Brest through Lucas Paquetá, after which Houssem Aouar doubled the score on a pass from Memphis. Even before half time, the attacker of Orange was knocked out in the sixteen-meter area, after which he himself used the penalty. It was already his fourteenth season goal.
In the second half it became even more exciting, as Brest came back with goals from Brendan Chardonnet and Irvin Cardona. But that was it, which meant that Lyon booked the sixteenth victory of the season.
The Memphis club is therefore in the lead for a while, although Lille OSC and Paris Saint-Germain can still pass this weekend. Both clubs will play on Sunday. For Lille, this is the first game since Thursday’s 1-2 defeat against Ajax in the Europa League.

Weghorst helps Wolfsburg to 0-3 victory
In the Bundesliga, Wolfsburg won 0-3 against Arminia Bielefeld. After a 0-1 halftime score due to a goal from wing player Renato Steffen, the same Steffen was able to double the score from the rebound early in the second half after a bet by Weghorst. Not much later, Weghorst was the principal for the last goal of the evening by Maximilian Arnold.
Weghorst impresses Wolfsburg again this season, although he usually does so by scoring. In 21 Bundesliga matches he has already scored fourteen times. After the game in Bielefeld, the four-time Orange-international is on four assists.
Wolfsburg remained unbeaten for the eighth time in a row and as number three is still fully in the top of the Bundesliga, although the gap with leader Bayern Munich is considerable. ‘Der Rekordmeister’ has seven points more and will be in action this weekend.
With relegation candidate Bielefeld, Michel Vlap was unable to continue his dream debut against Bayern on Monday – with a goal and an assist he contributed to a handsome 3-3 draw. The Anderlecht mercenary was changed after an hour.
