The Memphis Grizzlies have announced that they will retire Marc Gasol’s number 33 on Saturday, April 6 at the FedExForum, after the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Gasol will become the second player in franchise history to have his jersey number retired, joining Zach Randolph, whose number 50 was retired on December 11, 2021.

The first 5,000 fans to attend the pavilion will receive a commemorative vinyl record in honor of Gasol, featuring memorable calls, moments and interviews throughout his career. Full details on the jersey retirement ceremony, including musical artists, entertainment, franchise legends, NBA players and coaches and other special guests, will be announced at a later date.
Gasol played 11 seasons (2008-19) with the Grizzlies and helped guide the franchise to seven consecutive playoff appearances, including the franchise’s first postseason series victory (2011) and a trip to the NBA Finals. 2013 Western Conference.

He was selected to the 2014-15 All-NBA First Team and the 2012-13 All-NBA Second Team and All-Defensive Second Team.
