It was the pupils of the Grand-Meaulnes college who were asked, at the start of the school year, as part of the Educational City label, to participate in this project, around the memory of the Moulon and Gibjoncs district.
A learning day organized this Tuesday in Bourges
They were able, at first, to discover the profession of archaeologist and archivist. Secondly, they discovered different artistic practices such as photography with Pauline Sauveur, author and photographer, which led them to take pictures, in a building that will be demolished. These photos will be exhibited at the Gibjoncs library. Photomontages were also made in the form of robot portraits of the districts. Literature is also part of the project with the writing of poems, which personify the neighborhoods.
Time capsules
Last aspect of their work, the creation of six time capsules, which will be hidden in the districts of Moulon and Gibjoncs. Five of them will be housed in buildings managed by social landlords France Loire and Val de Berry, buildings that will be renovated or rebuilt. The last will take place within the college itself. Laurence Augier, archaeologist and head of the archeology department of the city of Bourges, explains: “These capsules are doomed to be forgotten, they will be found, or not, the rest belongs to the future. We will also archive all student work in municipal and community archives. »
In the meantime, to discover all this, you will have to go to the Gibjoncs library, from June 1st, and until June 10th. Then, the exhibition will take place in the premises of the association C’est possible autre (58, rue Félix-Chédin).
