A special memorial sign near the forest in Teteringen, where the lifeless body of a girl was found more than thirty years ago, has disappeared. The board was unveiled on Friday and was supposed to lead to tips in the coldcasezaak.
The girl’s body was found on Christmas Day in 1990 in the forest near the village near Breda. After more than thirty years, it is still not known who the girl is and how she died. There is no trace of a possible perpetrator or perpetrators. The ‘girl of Teteringen’ is now buried anonymously in the cemetery in the village.
Former Telegraaf journalist Theo Jongedijk has been working on the case for years. In a last-ditch effort to ask people if they know anything about the girl or her disappearance, he pushed for an interactive memorial sign with QR code. After it was announced by Mayor Paul Depla of Breda on Friday was revealed, yesterday morning came the message that the sign had disappeared.
