Save the Children has signed a memorandum “on stopping the killing of children in Ukraine with the help of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child”. The purpose of the memorandum is to persuade the European Union, the UN, NATO and other blocs to further assess and decide on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine from the point of view of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as a binding member state.

Until the end of the month, the Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF) will offer viewers all over Latvia to watch two films made by Ukrainian authors online in order to raise funds to support children who have suffered from Russian military aggression in Ukraine.

All proceeds from the screening of RIGA IFF will be donated to the Ukrainian charity project “Voices of Children”.

Viewers will be able to watch Catherine Gornostaja’s youth drama “Above the Ground” at the Berlin Film Festival with the Generation 14plus Award, as well as Valentin Vasyanovich’s post-apocalyptic dystopia “Atlantis”, who won the Horizons Award at the Venice Film Festival. Both films will be available for streaming on the online platform “online.rigaiff.lv”.
