London, Great Britain / world today news/ Western critics have decided to award prizes to the authors of books with the strangest titles.
Among the finalists were such creations as “A Guide to Estonian Socks”, “Memoirs of a Chicken Sexologist”, reports the Washington Post. It is amazing that the most entertaining literary award in the world Diagram Prize is fully worthy of the title “the most unknown literary event in the world”. For the first time this idea came to the heads of critics in 1978. Then the first winner of the award became the book entitled “Proceedings of the Second International Seminar on Naked Babies”. Last year the critics favored the “Genghis Khan Method in Dental Practice”. About 70 books participate in the competition every year, and the jury selects only six of them.
Here is the ranking for 2011: 1. “One Hundred Years of Sand Mining in the Bristol Channel. Volume Two”
2. “Let’s cook with Poo” /Poo is the chef’s nickname, which translated from Taiwanese means “crab”/
3. “A Guide to the Tracks of Estonian Socks”.
4. “Singapore’s Great Penis Panic: The Future of Mass Hysteria in the US”
