Memmingen Indians Beat Heilbronner Falken 3-2 in Thrilling Overtime Victory

The Indians won against the Heilbronner Falken on Friday evening 3:2 nV and thus scored two important points in the final spurt of the main round. Over 1,900 spectators saw the overtime victory at Hühnerberg. On Sunday there will be another meeting with EV Füssen at Kobelhang, before SC Riessersee visits Memmingen on Tuesday evening.

Daniel Huhn and his team were able to welcome a returnee to the team before the game. After a long injury break, Pascal Dopatka celebrated his comeback for the Indians. Against the currently strongest team in the league from Heilbronn, the home team started with concentration and pressure to score. Matej Pekr scored 1-0 for Memmingen in the 5th minute. The ECDC remained the more active team with more play in the first third, but was unable to improve. Both teams generally gave each other little attention and the game was played intensively.

It continued like this in the middle third as the nicks increased. Two minutes after the break, Robert Peleikis made it 2-0 for the ECDC with a rebound. Heilbronn then gradually worked their way into the game and tested the strong support in the Indians goal, Marco Eisenhut, time and again. A hidden shot from Jan Pavlu found its way into Memmingen’s goal before the end of the period and gave the Falken the 1-2 goal.

In the final section, Memmingen struggled against pressing guests from Baden-Württemberg, who now wanted to equalize with all their might. The Maustadt team also had a chance to make a preliminary decision, but Falken veteran Frederik Caban shot the disc into the net to make it 2-2 (54th minute). Several good chances ensured that the encounter was exciting until the end, but ultimately had to be decided in overtime.

In extra time, the red and white team managed to secure the extra point when they had the advantage. Robert Peleikis deflected a shot from Linus Svedlund to make it 3-2 for Memmingen, which earned the Indians a not undeserved additional point.

It continues on Sunday in the distance. Within a week there will be a second meeting with EV Füssen. The game at Kobelhang starts at 5:00 p.m. The next home game at Hühnerberg follows on Tuesday. Then the ECDC has an important game in the fight for fourth place against SC Riessersee. Tickets against the table neighbors are already available online in the VVK. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
