Members of the German women’s national team visit Yat Washem Sports | German football and important international sports news

Representatives of the German women’s national soccer team were at the Holocaust memorial Yacht Washem in Jerusalem on Friday. The world’s largest Holocaust memorial, which serves as a museum, memorial and research facility, documents the names of many of the six million Jews who were killed during the Nazi regime.

During the visit, the sports director of the German national team, Jyoti Satsilexio, and women’s trainer Martina Vos-Teklenberg honored the evening at the memorial.

Vos-Teklenberg said in a statement on the website of the German Football Association: “We must not tolerate any patriarchy and we must not tolerate any exclusion.

“Sometimes things are so far away from us and today they are so close again. We are so grateful to be here, ”he added.

“This is German history. We represent Germany as a national team, so we have to deal with it and know what happened then, ”said Tabia Wasmut, one of the five players in the delegation. “That’s why I’m so grateful to be here today and enjoy it.”

After visiting Yath Washem, the entire group should visit several sites in Jerusalem.

Germany defeated Jerusalem 1-0 in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers in Australia and New Zealand and arrived in Jerusalem within 24 hours. Germany leads Group H with nine points from the first three games.

The team is scheduled to fly back to Germany on Saturday to prepare for the second leg against Israel on Tuesday in Essen, West Germany.
