Member of the Supreme Judicial Council Denies Manipulated Chats and Recording with Chief Prosecutor Geshev

The chats and the recording released by the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev with me have been manipulated. Parts of the written communication are missing. This was said before the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council by its member Yordan Stoev and indicated that he was not on the record.

Stoev explained that an investigation has already started in the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office and he will tell everything there. He categorically denied that he was looking for Geshev, explained that the chief prosecutor had invited him to visit.

The recording was not made by me, how do you imagine that I would do such a thing and then give it to a woman in front of the Courthouse to give it to Geshev, Stoev said.

He explained that he, Kalina Chapkanova and Georgi Kuzmanov have been summoned for questioning at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office. He pointed out that this is a violation because it is directly subordinated to the Prosecutor General and the acts there cannot be appealed. He called the interrogations “a rudimentary attempt at intimidation.”

Asked by “24 Chasa” whether, because of the published chats by Geshev, Stoev will submit a new request for the removal of the chief prosecutor, the member of the SJC said that he will consider it. The magistrate has two reports filed against the Attorney General. One is because of the presence of the Israeli expert at the examination of the attack against accuser number 1. The other is because of the phrase “political garbage”.

The first request will be considered at today’s meeting.
