Member of Judicial College of the Supreme Judicial Council speaks out on Geshev-Sarafov case

“This scandal undermines the prestige of the judiciary in an unacceptable way. What is happening is humiliating for both prosecutors and judges, as part of the judicial system in Bulgaria.”stated Olga Kerelska, a member of the Judicial College of the Supreme Judicial Council (HCC) to journalists, after a meeting of the college in connection with the case involving the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev and his deputy Borislav Sarafov.

According to her, it is absolutely unacceptable to resolve disputes in the prosecutor’s office in this way.

“This speaks to some very serious problems there, and indeed, if something is done, it should be of a radical nature.”she added, BTA reported.

In connection with the proposal of six members of the Prosecutor’s College to the Plenum of the SJC for the early release of the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev, Olga Kerelska stated that it is related to certain allegations that are subject to proof.

Borislav Sarafov is already under guard

“When we collect the facts, analyze them, we will take the appropriate opinion, each of us, bearing our personal responsibility”she added.
