Jakarta (ANTARA) – Member of Commission E DPRD DKI Jakarta Sholikhah urged the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) to increase anticipation of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in the capital city as a means of preventing this disease.
“The trend in the number of dengue fever cases in Jakarta tends to increase over time, especially during weather anomalies like now,” Sholikhah told reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Sholikhah explained that this pressure was a step for the DKI Jakarta Health Service to take quick steps to prevent the increase in the number of sufferers due to bites from the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
According to him, health cases that arise during the season transition should have been anticipated because in recent years, Jakarta has faced the same situation due to global weather changes.

“This should have been anticipated because dengue cases are actually nothing new,” he said.
Therefore, he asked the DKI Health Office to also carry out outreach to the public about healthy lifestyles in this season’s transitional era and to reach residential areas living on the outskirts of Jakarta.
Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Health Service, during the period 1 January to February 2024, the number of dengue fever cases in Jakarta was recorded at 627 cases.
Residents of West Jakarta suffered the most with 208 cases, East Jakarta 161 cases and South Jakarta 145 cases.

Meanwhile, in North Jakarta there were 74 cases, Central Jakarta 34 cases and the Thousand Islands Regency at least five cases.
Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Ani Ruspitawati, had instructed all health service facilities in Jakarta to carry out early detection and management of dengue cases according to standards.
“All health facilities in Jakarta are ready to serve the community if they are infected with dengue fever,” said Ani in Jakarta, Friday (1/3).
The dengue vector control program is implemented by increasing PSN 3M Plus to increasing monitoring of larvae by larva monitors (jumantik) by increasing the monitoring frequency to twice a week.
