In July everything happened in politics: the clash over justice between Nordio’s reform and the Delmastro, La Russa and Santanchè cases, the war on Rai with the expulsions of Facci and Saviano, and again the Pnrr, the minimum wage and so on . All events ridden by the left which made ideological battles to bury the center-right in government. The result? Brothers of Italy has returned to exceed the psychological threshold of 30 percent. The figure emerges from the latest political poll by Nando Pagnoncelli, published in Corriere della Sera on Saturday 29 July. As regards the consent to the parties and the orientation of the vote, Fratelli d’Italia grew by one point compared to a month ago and reached 30.4%. In the center-right government we see the clear drop in Forza Italia which loses more than one point and stands at 6%. The pollster recalls that after the death of Silvio Berlusconi the party’s primary objective is to “maintain its consensus and bring it intact or nearly so to the European elections”. More contained drop for the League which loses 0.7% and reaches 8.4%.
In the center-left galaxy, the Democratic Party is stable at 19.3, but it is the “lowest point since the election of secretary Elly Schlein”. Quite curious data emerge from the survey. The militant line of the Democratic Party seems to distance the moderates and does not entirely convince the more radicals: the Verdi Sinistra alliance gains 0.9% reaching 4.1%. +Europe grows by 1.2% settling at 2.7%, the 5 Star Movement remains unchanged at 16.3%. In the third pole leap of Action by Carlo Calenda (+0.8) which rises to 3.9 and surpasses Italia Viva by Maatteo Renzi which loses more than one point and drops to 3.
“The political framework gives us a situation of substantial stability, with some small variations, starting from the assessment of the executive which undergoes a decline”, explains the pollster. The government’s appreciation drops by three points, reaching 49, but the repercussions for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni are minimal because she obtains an “appreciation that places her at 52, one point less than the previous survey, but substantially in line with the data we have seen since the beginning of the year”.
