Meloni attacks Repubblica, the press release from the CdR

For the umpteenth time, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni decides to target Republic and the newspapers that support the right-wing government do the same, in a splendidly coordinated manner, Libero al Newspaper (whose owner is a parliamentarian elected from the right wing). Newspapers that in turn further personalize by attacking one of our colleagues, who is also a union representative.

International reports on the state of health of press freedom in Italy speak clearly: the situation is critical and the level of intimidation is high. Nothing to be surprised about when the government is led by political forces that have not renounced a political culture that has always been based on the suppression of dissent and the denial of freedoms, first and foremost those of trade unions and the press.

Republic but it has its own clear history and identity, diametrically and proudly opposed to those of the prime minister and her party. Everything has been declared, in full transparency, since the first editorial in 1976 by founder Eugenio Scalfari. In our way of doing journalism we support the values ​​of the left, therefore of anti-fascism, of equality, of the advancement of social and civil rights for all.
