Parisian authorities confirm that this Friday morning, four people were wounded with bladed weapons in Paris, next to the building of the former newsroom of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. According to BFMTV, a suspicious package was also found and authorities asked people to avoid the area.
Two of the injured are in a state of “absolute emergency”.

According to the French press, two suspects have fled, but have already been arrested. The first man was captured near Bastille Square and a second suspect was reportedly detained shortly afterwards on the Paris metro network, according to a judicial source quoted by the French press.

The news agency Premières Lignes, which operates in the building, confirmed to Radio France 2 that two of its workers, “a man and a woman”, were injured in the attack, which took place on the street.
A police official explained that a police cordon was set up in the area, including the old newsroom building, after a suspicious package was found.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex announced a meeting with the Interior Minister to monitor the situation.
There is also information that “thousands of students have been confined” as a precaution and that schools, daycare centers and homes for the elderly in the area have been closed.

It is recalled that the former newsroom of the newspaper, in the east of Paris, was the scene, on January 7, 2015, of an attack jihadist which left 12 dead and five seriously injured. The trial of the alleged accomplices of this and other attacks in Paris has been ongoing since the beginning of September in the French capital.
