The Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration, subject area A3, is the highest state authority in the area of registration for the Free State of Bavaria. Together with the governments and district offices, we oversee the municipal registration authorities (residents’ registration offices, citizens’ offices, citizens’ offices). In order to ensure that the registration law is implemented as uniformly as possible, we provide the registration authorities with implementation instructions as part of our specialist supervision.
The main task of the local registration authorities is to accept registrations and deregistrations, to transmit data to authorities and other bodies and to provide information to private individuals in accordance with the law.
