Melania Trump, the wife of the US president, has written her personal experiences with the coronavirus on the White House website. The First Lady tested positive two weeks ago – just like her husband – but has now fully recovered.

“The symptoms were minimal,” describes Melania, “but they all came at the same time. The following days therefore seemed like a rollercoaster of symptoms. ” She said she had body aches, headaches and extreme fatigue. But unlike her husband, Melania did not have to go to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, but remained quarantined in the White House.
A striking passage is the one in which Melania writes how she fought the coronavirus: not with the experimental drugs that her husband received, but “I chose a more natural route, with vitamins and healthy food”. Especially since the First Lady repeats a little later: “I encourage everyone to continue to live as healthy as possible. A balanced diet, fresh air and vitamins are important to keep our bodies healthy. Compassion and humility are equally important for your own well-being. ”
Both Melania and Donald Trump have now tested negative, according to the president’s doctors.
Barron also positive
Melania also revealed in the same post that her son Barron (14) tested positive for the virus. However, the White House had reported two weeks ago that the young man was negative. “Of course my concern was primarily with my son,” writes Melania. “Much to our relief, he tested negative, but just like so many parents have thought in recent months, I wondered, ‘What happens tomorrow or the day after?’ That fear became reality when he was retested and turned positive. (That diagnosis was not disclosed by the White House, ed.) Fortunately, he is a strong teenager and showed no symptoms. ”
President Trump was also asked about his son’s health on Wednesday. “Barron is doing well”, it sounded. “He had it for a very short period of time. I don’t think he even knew he had it because they are so young, their immune system is strong and they fight it themselves for 99.9 percent. ”
