“I hope this can serve as a place for relaxation as well as a meeting space for the future first familiesMelania Trump wrote at the unveiling of the new tennis pavilion.
She went on to express her gratitude to the ‘talented’ craftsmen who worked on the project and to all the ‘generous’ fans of the White House.

The announcement immediately criticized Trump. “Inappropriate,” it sounded. “They should spend time dealing with the corona crisis.” Journalist David Corn briefly answered the number 282,345, the number of Americans who have died from the coronavirus.
Rightly or far-fetched? The commentators know how to find the family. Molly Jong-Fast, reporter at The Daily Beast, returned with a sarcastic reply. “The first lady clearly knows what is going on in the American people right now,” she wrote. “Everyone in the intensive care unit will immediately feel much better knowing that Melania Trump’s tennis pavilion is ready.”
Melania: set a good example yourself
The first lady has heard of the criticism and is countering it. “Anyone who chooses to be negative and question my work in the White House would be better off using their time to contribute and do something productive in your own community.”
Whether the tennis pavilion – and other adjustments that Melania Trump has made in the White House – will last a long life is still the question. On January 20, Joe Biden is sworn in as the new president of the United States. From then on, he is free to make adjustments himself or opt for a new design.
